Imprint Analytics joins Oritain

Imprint Analytics joins Oritain’s laboratory network and strengthens expertise in authenticity and origin analysis

In 2025, Imprint Analytics was acquired by Oritain. It joins Oritain’s global network and Technical Advisory Committee made up of AiA, Isotrace, Imprint and Agroisolab. With the acquisition of Imprint Analytics from Neutal (Burgenland), Oritain is strengthening its presence in the field of analytical origin and authenticity testing and further expanding its role as a global partner for transparency and trust in supply chains.

NEUTAL, AUSTRIA – 6 November 2025Oritain, a global leader in forensic origin verification, announces the acquisition of Imprint Analytics, one of Europe's leading laboratories for authenticity and provenance analysis, into its global network. Through this investment, Oritain is expanding its scientific capabilities in Europe and responding to the growing demand for robust evidence of product origin, authenticity and quality.

From origin analysis to Europe’s competence center for product authenticity

Founded in Neutal, Austria, in 2013, Imprint Analytics has evolved from a laboratory focusing on pharmaceutical analysis to a leading European centre of excellence for authenticity and origin verification. The company uses a wide range of analytical techniques – including Isotope Ratio Mass Spectrometry (IRMS), Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) and Near-Infrared spectroscopy (NIR)– to verify the authenticity and origin of products throughout the supply chain.

Imprint works with international brands, retailers and authorities to detect counterfeits and false claims of origin – from food and beverages to cotton and cosmetics to pharmaceutical ingredients. Scientific analysis is used to promote trust, consumer safety and sustainable sourcing.

“As the founder of Imprint Analytics, my vision from the outset was to combine science and business in such a way that authenticity becomes measurable and trust verifiable,” emphasizes Dr Bernd Bodiselitsch, Co-CEO and founder of Imprint Analytics. “Imprint is a bridge between the laboratory and the market – we translate scientific evidence into economic responsibility and support companies in not only promising sustainability, but also proving it. With the integration into the global Oritain network, we are taking the logical next step: we are scaling our vision internationally, thereby laying the foundation for a new era of transparency, authenticity and responsibility in global supply chains.”

“This collaboration has allowed us to scale our operations, access new industries, and build a more profitable and impactful business model,” adds David Psomiadis, CEO at Imprint Analytics. “We’re excited to be part of a global network that shares our values and vision.”

Imprint Analytics develops and operates the Food Fraud Prevention Program, which combines analytical testing with risk assessment, knowledge sharing and consulting. The aim is to enable companies to identify, scientifically verify and communicate potential vulnerabilities in their supply chains. With over ten years of experience, a wide range of industry projects and close collaborations with standardization organizations such as AOAC (Association of Official Analytical Collaboration) and CEN (European Committee for Standardization), Imprint is considered one of the pioneers in the development of practical methods to combat product counterfeiting and mislabeling.

“Imprint Analytics brings not only cutting-edge technology to our network, but also deep expertise in the needs of manufacturers, retailers and consumers,” said Alyn Franklin, CEO of Oritain. “Together, we are setting new standards for provenance, sustainability and scientific excellence in Europe.”

A global network for transparency and trust

The integration of Imprint Analytics forms part of Oritain’s expanding scientific network, alongside Isotrace (New Zealand), Agroisolab (Germany), and AiA (France).

Together, these laboratories combine complementary expertise in isotopic, elemental, and molecular analysis, offering unprecedented analytical depth to verify the true origin of raw materials and finished goods across diverse industries such as agriculture, fashion, cosmetics, and energy.
